Java Argopuro Jember Robusta comes from Jember Regency in East Java and was registered as a geographical indication on 19 May 2023.
Its registration number is IDG000000130. DJKI's GI catalogue names dominant brown sugar, spice, vanilla and caramel, and notes that aroma and taste depend on the coffee type and the environment: altitude, temperature, rainfall and soil. Jember has two robusta GIs registered on the same day, this Argopuro and Java Raung Gumitir, and borders Bondowoso, home of Hyang Argopuro Arabica. BPS recorded 96,311 hectares of coffee and 54,128 tonnes of production in East Java in 2024.
