Tambora Robusta comes from Dompu Regency on the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, and was registered as a geographical indication on 3 July 2017.
Its registration number is IDG000000062, the first coffee GI in West Nusa Tenggara by registration date on this map. DJKI's GI catalogue names chocolate, butter, a little nuttiness, wood and a soybean aroma, rating the quality very good to excellent. Dompu borders Sumbawa Regency, home of Batulanteh Robusta, the second robusta GI on the same island. West Nusa Tenggara has four coffee GIs on the map: two on Sumbawa and two on Lombok.
