Minahasa Arabica comes from Minahasa Regency in North Sulawesi and was registered as a geographical indication on 16 August 2024.
Its registration number is IDG000000155, the only coffee GI in North Sulawesi on this map. DJKI's GI catalogue describes a brew with a medium to full body, a complex flavour, light to medium acidity, a balanced taste, milk to dark chocolate, and caramel. BPS recorded 7,666 hectares of coffee in North Sulawesi in 2024, producing 3,724 tonnes, all of it from smallholder farms.
